Over 420 private and public sector laboratory designers, engineers,
owners, and operators, gathered in Durham to discuss the broad range
of issues facing today's laboratory-intensive industries, including
biotechnology, environmental sciences, microelectronics, and nuclear
magnetic resonance.
From thought provoking sessions with leading national experts to
showcases of the latest technologies, the 2002 Labs21 Conference
highlighted the tools and resources laboratory professionals will
need to design and manage the next generation of laboratories.

Morris X. Winn, EPA's Assistant Administrator
for the Office of Administration and Resources Management, welcomed
attendees from around the world during the morning plenary session
on October 7th.
