Flexible Laboratory Furniture Allows Scientists to Reconfigure to Suit Changing Needs

Andrew Sinnamon, Mott Manufacturing Limited

The Medical and Related Sciences research tower located in Toronto, Canada, will be featured showing the use of mobile furniture. By avoiding fixed casework in many areas of the laboratory, frequent renovation is avoided. As analytical equipment evolves, the adjustable furniture is relocated and reused, thus saving resources and avoiding disruption. In addition, installation costs and onsite waste are reduced. Other projects featuring flexible system furniture will also be illustrated. The environmental benefits of steel as a construction material will also be covered.
