This article focuses on reducing the mechanical heating and cooling requirements for conditioning ventilated air in laboratories. The article incorporates a variety of energy-efficient techniques, including enthalpy wheels and heat pipes, that are addressed in the Labs21 Best Practices Guide: Energy Recovery for Ventilation Air in Laboratories ( 8 pp., 392 KB, about PDF). It was co-authored by Labs21 Team Member Otto Van Geet and Susan Reiley.
