Duke University

Picture of Duke University's Levine Science and Research Center.

Duke University plans to test different scenarios to improve energy and water efficiency at its 300,000 square-foot Levine Science Research Center. By varying operating conditions in each of the building's modules, Duke will be able to measure the impact of various management practices and strategies on the performance of exhaust hoods, energy use, and water use.

In a separate but related project, Duke is investigating the possibility of testing advanced fume hood designs in select laboratories.
