Labs21 Partners are encouraged to report the status of their project to EPA/DOE. Reporting your results is important because it provides information that Labs21 can use to recognize outstanding performance. It also provides you with information you can use to benchmark your performance relative to other laboratories.

Within one year of becoming a Labs21 Partner, we ask you to evaluate your laboratory using the Environmental Performance Criteria developed by the Labs21 program. These criteria serve as a tool to evaluate the sustainable attributes of your laboratory. The criteria build upon the LEED® rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Once your building is completed, we ask that you fill out the Labs21 Energy Benchmarking Form annually to continue to track your project's progress and to provide useful data to the entire laboratory community. All data will be kept confidential.
